Our Firm

Our Firm / History

SMC Terminus Group, Inc. was founded in January 2002. The Firm, through its first subsidiary, Trinity Advisors, LLC, sought to create a client relationship that offered a better way of providing a comprehensive set of management consulting and financial advisory services to corporations and governmental entities.

In 2008, to meet the changing needs of our clients, we established and internally capitalized a subsidiary broker-dealer, Terminus Securities, LLC. The formal regulatory approval provided us with an opportunity to provide a capital underwriting and execution platform for both corporate and municipal securities. As of year-end 2013, Terminus was involved in more than $15 billion of transaction offerings for a diverse set of clients throughout the country. During this period of expansion, we added leading talent with diverse product expertise, opened several additional offices, and enhanced our quantitative and technical capabilities.

Since 2008 the financial markets have continued to evolve and we have stayed true to our strategic commitment to make modifications to our depth and service profile to meet the needs of our customers. In 2014, in an effort to fine-tune our service and product platform and to address both the market and regulatory landscape, we realigned our operating platform to meet the long-term challenges of the market. The internal changes better position our talent and resources to offer superior, innovative and custom based financial solutions to our clients.

We recognize the tremendous amount of trust and commitment that clients place in the financial service firms they choose for transaction advice and execution, especially during periods of market disruption and dynamic market changes. As the markets have become more difficult to navigate, more clients have chosen to work with our family of firms due to our client-centric focus, extensive market knowledge, and our overall commitment to provide value-added comprehensive solutions to meet our client’s financial objectives.
